Summary
This journalism master's project includes a professional work component and a research component. The professional work component details the author's experiences working as a creator to develop a web site for the National Advertising Division (NAD), one branch of the National Advertising Review Council (NARC). Includes field notes. In the research component the author examines semi-structured interviews with children from three different age groups (grades 2-6) to investigate how children under the age of 12 perceive television commercials, and concludes that children in these age groups displayed "many of the behaviors and levels of understanding expected of their respective age" (p. 44) to child-directed television commercials. Includes a literature review and interview transcriptions
