- Die Romzüge der Kaiser des 15. Jahrhunderts waren keine militärischen Unternehmen mehr, die Reichsrechte mit Waffengewalt zu restituieren suchten, sondern repräsentative Reisen, die der herrscherlichen Selbstinszenierung und demonstrativen Zurschaustellung politischer Beziehungen dienten. Am Beispiel Sigismunds von Luxemburg werden in diesem Buch Bedingungen und Formen politischer Kommunikation zwischen dem Reich und Italien untersucht. Angeregt durch den Forschungsansatz einer "Kulturgeschichte des Politischen" wird das Agieren des Herrschers in Italien in das komplexe Wechselspiel der Kräfte eingebettet. --Provided by publisher
