- "In Great Spanish Films Since 1950, Ronald Schwartz presents a compendium of outstanding Spanish films from the pre-Francoist era through the Spanish New Wave of the 1980s and 1990s and into the present day. Schwartz provides background, plot, and commentaries of key movies from six decades of Spanish cinema. In addition to identifying the classics, the book highlights other notable films also worthy of discussion, either for their artistic merit or popular reception. More than 120 features are discussed, and each analysis includes cast and crew details, major awards and nominations, and the film's availability on VHS and/or DVD. The book also includes a chronology of Spanish cinema since 1896; appendixes citing the nominees and winners of the Goya, Cinema Writers Circle, and Academy Awards; and more than fifty photos.
