- Summary
- This journalism master's project includes a professional work component and a research component. The professional work component details the author's experiences working at 13-30 Corporation, a publishing company in Knoxville, Tennessee. The author's principle duties were to "1. Write short items and conduct research for stories in America magazine. 2. Conduct audience and concept research for on-going development projects. 3. Observe and participate in magazine development meetings (editorial and marketing). 4. Observe and participate in the production of development prototypes." (Plan B proposal, [p. 2]) Includes field notes and examples of work. For the research component the author created a business plan which "outlines the editorial concept, market analysis, circulation strategy and financial projections for Great Lakes Sailor, a regional magazine devoted to men and women who sail on the Great Lakes."
