Summary
This data collection was undertaken to evaluate a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded program that provided nontraditional health and health-related services to the elderly. These services included housekeeping, home maintenance/repair, yard work, snow removal, meal preparation/home-delivered meals, health insurance claims assistance, health education, private-duty nursing, and other caregiver services. The collection comprises data from four sources: (1) administrative data collected upon each client's entry into the program (Intake File, Part 1), (2) administrative data describing the services provided to each client (Service Encounter Files, Parts 2-6), (3) data from a survey of the clients of the program (Client Survey, Part 7), and (4) data from a survey of low-income clients of the program who received help from the state Administration on Aging (AOA) (AOA Client Survey, Part 8). The Intake File includes information on living arrangements, household income, date of birth, health status, activity limitations, and whether assistance with household and personal chores was provided by friends, relatives, or organizations. Service Encounter Files contain data on the cost and type of each service rendered by the program. The Client Survey and the AOA Client Survey assess the impact of the program on the quality of clients' lives. Clients were queried regarding their use of program services, the impacts of the services used, and their use of services from alternative suppliers.... Cf.: http://dx.doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR09946
