Summary
The government of Oria is within weeks of victory and restoring peace when Liton Rennedee, leader of the Revolutionaries, discovers the distant planet Earth has nuclear weapons. He travels there, takes over the body of man who holds an important political military position, and quickly causes mischief. In the confusion, he hopes to obtain nuclear warheads to bring back to Oria. Millions could die on Earth and billions could die on Oria. There is time to send only one man, war hero Hoken Rommeler, to pursue Rennedee to Earth. There Hoken takes over the body of a dyslexic, malcontent ex-Marine. His mission has only two directives: stalk and kill Rennedee on Earth, and maintain the Alien's Secret. Although there are numerous hints along the way, only on the last page do we discover the identity of the humans possessed by Rennedee and Rommeler. Aliens have changed our history in ways you could never imagine. The Alien's Secret is a Gulliver's Travels and Candide of the galaxy of the twentieth century. The virtual photon allowed the Orians to unlock the secrets of the black hole. They dismantle the moon Cardenio to build the Rankin Cube around the black hole/star binary, and beam the limitless energy back to Oria. PEPs are the secret of absolute zero, the most destructive power in the Universe, and lead to the development of plasma water, the ultimate superconductor. On the trip to Earth, Hoken survives a supernova, and is saved in an encounter with the barbarian Grog by the Septadians, whose finger pattern determines their intelligence. As Hoken's space craft approaches Earth, the computer states, "Sir, the moon they call Europa is teeming with life." You will learn why Good always, inevitably, defeats Evil. Quotes from The Alien's Secret: "It's easier to prove there isn't a god than to prove there is one." "Talking to him was more painful than a meticulously planned and flawlessly executed browbeating by your mother-in-law at Thanksgiving dinner." "It was the most closely guarded secret in the galaxy, more valuable even than the recipe for Kentucky Fried Chicken." "An Ong-gong man of questionable veracity, one of those mostly honest people, yet just slick and sleazy enough so you weren't quite sure if what he was saying was real or BS-like many televangelists." "Einstein was a Tralarian. No human was that smart. So was Galileo. Maybe the Church was right to be suspicious of him.' --Amazon.com
