Summary
This journalism master's project includes a professional component and an analysis component. The professional component details of the author's research on the case of Josh Kezer, a man who was wrongfully convicted for a 1992 murder, and includes field notes and the first two drafts of the story. The analysis component contains research on how media coverage of four wrongful convictions in North Carolina led to the creation of the North Carolina Innocence Inquiry Commission in 2006 and includes a literature review on agenda-setting theory and the "media's role in society of dictating the tone and substance in which a news story is reported" (p. 84)
